About 'Ragdoll' Cats?
Hi,
I’ve recently become interested in the Ragdoll breed of cat, a few questions:
1) Is it true you shouldn’t let them outside in case a bigger animal comes and the ragdoll cat won’t defend itself?
2) I’m guessing they must be expensive to buy – how much on average?
3) Any useful facts I should know?
Thanks,
Katie.
I’m interested in this breed because I desperately want a cat but my mum hates the idea of them killing birds and rabbits, also she still reckons cats aren’t clean animals. How do I convince her?!?!
Please somebody answer….
Please I reeaaalllyyy need to know how much it costs in ££ to buy one! it doen’t need to be 100% pedigree or anything like that – I need a clean cat that doesn’t kill stuff.
READ THIS BIT:
It seems a Ragdoll would be too expensive. Also, I’ve almost given up all hope of my Mum letting me get a cat.. )c’=

Do not let your cat outside.
Cats let outside can get: hit by cars – see the vet bill = $$$
Cats outside, in a raccoon fight, see the vet bill = $$$
Cats outside get pregnant = who will take the older kittens/cats?
Guilt, money etc….
Save money for spay and neuter – there are so many homeless cats and kittens out there – maybe ‘forget’ about a Ragdoll…just READ though here, people are overwhelmed with homeless baby kittens.
Ragdolls are not meant to be outside cats – its far better to keep any cat inside. With the longer hair, your cat will need daily grooming and if outside will get tangled and dirty quickly.
A pet quality Raggy from a reputable breeder will cost about $700 or more. But you can consider adopting an older retired cat for less money.
Also look at shelters or on Petfinder – I’ve seen Raggy look-a-likes on there.
