They seem pretty nice. My friend has one who is so sweet and affectionate but I recommend a mixed breed. They are much cuter and cheaper than purebreds.

No, but Ragdolls are awesome housecats. They are pretty and friendly, but the theory about becoming limp when picked up because of their ancestors’ high pain has been discredited. Be sure to brush him/her thoroughly.

Yes, you have found the puuuuurrrfect one, the Ragdoll breed is a very affectionate cat. That is where it obtained the name…

Ragdolls are generally good cats but I STRONGLY recommend checking in to the breeder you may get her from. A family member bought a ragdoll from a breeder, and she was beautiful but she was very tempermental and peed everywhere. As with any animal, breeding can sometimes increase bad characteristics if not done properly. I strongly recommend going to the pound or animal shelter to get a new pet, rather than a costly breeder who may not practice ethical/healthy breeding strategies. Many adult cats are in need of a home and older adults are just as docile and make good house pets like a ragdoll.

We adopted our cat, so I don’t know what she is- but I once wondered if she was at least part rag doll from what I read of their temperament and body shape. But then I read that they don’t have an undercoat and shed very little- that would be nice, but is not the case with ours. Everything I have heard of ragdolls is nice.

Ragdoll cats are the best breed ever…..my ex has a male and female, and I took a male from the first litter…he is 2 now, George is his name……I also took a male from the second litter, (6 males and 1 female)his name is Ralph……my sister took a male, my mom took a male, and a neighbor took the female, the other 3 males went to good homes too….
They are very loving cats and have extreme patience with little kids…..
When my mom goes on vacation, she brings Jelly Bean over and all three of them play…..they remember eachother, they are brothers you know…..
I would highly recommend ragdolls, they are an awesome breed…

Yes I have two adult Ragdoll cats. I got them for free as they were an ex-breeding pair that were no longer “required” by the breeders. Both these cats are very sweet natured & follow me and my b/f around the house where-ever we go. They are very placid cats and love to lie around flopped out. They can be very needy in terms of attention and want LOTS of food. I don’t know that I would go out and pay the money just to get a Ragdoll though. My family and friends have had plenty of regular cats that are just as wonderful and sweet. Many shelters are overflowing with cats that need good homes, so check those out!! (you might even find that you can re-home a ragdoll cat like I did)
