All cats are good cats. It depends more on if you like long or short hair. Keep in mind that long hair cats need grooming a lot more then short. Raggys would need to be combed (not brushed) 2-3 times a week.
Ragdolls are very affectionate and love attention. In fact, if you are not going to be at home a lot, it would be best to look at another breed. Also not all Ragdolls are laid back, and not all are ‘limp’ when you pick them up. They need regular brushing too. Best thing to do is to find a local breeder and see if you can visit with the cats and find out if it is the right breed for you.
Ragdoll cats are know by this name because they go limp like a rag doll when picked up. They love to be around people and enjoy being held or laying on your lap. They can be playful and have a very spirited personality, but can be cool, calm and collected. Overall they are my favorite breed ever and I can’t wait to own another one. They bring joy to anyone’s life and are a life safer for older people that need company because they have such well rounded personalities. They are amazing pets!

I own a ragdoll and they are the cutest, calmest most affectionate cat. I have a little sister and they get along great. They are very tolerable and I would definitely recommend a ragdoll cat!
