Are Ragdoll Cats Less Intelligent Than Other Breeds of Cats or Mutt Cats?

June 16th, 2010

I’ve noticed that my ragdoll cat seems exceptionally stupid compared to other cats. Not that I dislike her, I love her! She’s a great cat. Just kind of… off… Anyone else notice this?

I have a cat who came from a mixed litter (calico, tabby, orange and white, black and white, and him) He is marked like a Ragdoll and very big (20 lbs.) He is also not very bright, sorry to say.He eats and sleeps, and is afraid of his own shadow. He likes to be alone. He is a sweet boy, though, and I love him,but sometimes I wonder about him.

I don’t think so. I think that they are all intellegent in their own way, Like my Cleo is not exactly the brightest blub but she is the best hunter I’ve ever seen she catches unwanted rodents like crazy!

I have two Ragdolls, and I don’t think their intelligence is any different than any of the other cats I’ve ever owned.

Its rather difficult to grade an animal’s intelligence, many people claim their dogs are smart because they have taught them tricks, but that just means that they have worked with that animal for many hours and given them many treats to perform the trick.
