I Have a 6 Month Old Ragdoll Kitten We Purchased Two Kittens at the Same Time From a Breeder.?
The kittens are not from the same litter and are a week apart in age. The little male has been great. Our little female has had a few problems from the beginning. The day after they came home she started with diaherra and the worst smell you could ever imagine. We took her to the vet they tested her for cocidia said the test was negative, but all her symptoms pointed to that. They put her on an antibiotic, her symptoms stayed the same they put her on a second round of antibiotics and she seemed to be better. Well its been a couple of months now and she is starting with the very loose stool and the horrible smell. When she had this problem before she also would urinate on the carpet when the loose stool thing cleared up she stopped urinating on the carpet. A few days ago I noticed she was urinating on the rug her box sits on, and now today the very loose stool and horrible smell is back. They eat royal canin dry cat food which is suppose to be a very good quality cat food. Help

I do not believe that this is anything infectious because your other cat would have it as well. It is an issue with her digestive track in all likelihood. Royal Canin is a very good food, but it is also very rich and some cats have problems with that. There are several brands that offer food for sensitive stomach including Science Diet, A/D (available by prescription only), and I like IAM hairball control formula for firming them up. In addition, adding a tablespoon of canned pumpkin (the kind in the can that you can use to make pumpkin pie) mixed with a bit of wet food also will really help to regulate her. It is commonly used for cats with IBS and takes a few days to work. This can be given on a daily basis and will not hurt your "normal" cat if he eats it.
Maybe you should go to a different vet because it could be a serious problem.
Change her food to different foods see how she responds and if she doesn’t seem to change then just go to a different vet if they can’t help keep going to other vets until you find the problem.
the first answer is good; also go to allspecieshealing.com
Perhaps the test was a false negative. Demand a re-test that checks for all parasites / worms. There is something wrong with your kitten and your vet needs to do everything in his power to figure out what it is – or you need to find a new vet ASAP.
