I Have a Beautiful Ragdoll Cat That Im Trying to Find a Home for… Im Not Having Good Luck, Any Suggestions?

July 18th, 2010

shes seven and needs a loving home that can afford her
I have only had her for a week, saved her from being put down by a complete jerk. I got laid off and cant afford her anymore. Theres no way im dropping her off at a shelter bc ive worked at one and they really dont even care about the animals. And ive tried craigslist. doesnt help….
i live in san antonio tx
alright look "percy". I volunteered at the San antonio humane society for six years. And yes the never paid any attention to the animals individual needs. All they cared about was getting animals out of their shelter. Ive adopted two dogs and a cat from there. But Juliette has kidney disease, which is a big reason to why i cant afford her now and why she needs to go to someone special, not just any Joe who walks into a shelter.
So dont get all huffy, dont be lechturing me because yea SUPRISE i know what im talking about…
thanx
O and also yea shes a ragdoll, if i could id post a pic of her… but shes a cream cat with brown paws, tail, ears and face… and the most beautiful blue eyes.
and i saved her from being killed at a vets, i dont have her vet records much less her breeder papers.

Have you looked at "Petfinder.com" online? Also search for rescue websites.

Also, have you checked your local Vet offices and/or animal hospitals? Many times people will post notices on their boards trying to place animals.

I realize many shelters charge an adoption fee, but if you talk to them, they may waive the fee if you have income difficulties.

    Me… kittyslave23… I know my place.

Did you buy her from a breeder? If so then you need to take her back to that breeder – your contract would state as such.

Did you adopt her from a shelter? If so then you need to bring her back to the shelter you adopted her from.

None of the above? Then surrender her to a no-kill shelter and let them find an appropriate home for her.

Why are you dumping your cat at seven years? That’s rather cruel as I’m sure this cat is quite bonded to you.

edit: EXCUSE ME? "Shelters don’t care about the animals"? If shelters weren’t there all these animals would be DEAD. You obviously haven’t spent a second of your time volunteering at one, have you? I guess you must be someone they’ve denied adoptions to to have that pissy attitude about them.

If this truly is a Ragdoll then it would have come from a BREEDER so you need to find out what breeder that was and return it to them. I’m thinking it probably isn’t one at all.

I wish I could take her for you, but at tis time I cannot.

This website may offer some help. Try contacting these people to find someone who will love her. Good luck for you and her.

put posters up and see if you can find a nice person that would like to own a cat. another thing you could do is go round to the vets often they will take in kittens. If i could have another cat I would

make flyer’s and post them at the vet offices all over town.

find a non profit no kill privately owned animal rescue.

keep trying craigslist. sometimes you have to take the add down and post a new one to keep it current. make sure to have a re-homing fee to deter bad people who buy animals for bad things.

this is the best i can come up with best wishes.

Try looking up cat adoption centers or take a picture of her to your local Petsmart store and ask the employees there or look up the ragdoll site for help. Too bad you’re in tx….I’d take her. I love ragdoll’s. lullabyragdolls.com

Do a search on Ragdoll rescue, and see what you come up with. SinceRagdolls are the "in" breed right now, they’re being churned out by the kitten millers in record numbers, which means that Ragdoll rescues are popping up all over the place.

Shelters don’t care about the animals? No – PEOPLE don’t care about the animals, or they’d get them spayed/neutered, and would actually think about what they’re doing before getting a pet, and then disposing of it when the novelty wears off.

Don’t only post ads on craigslist try other sites explain the cats personality and what she likes to do, if she gets along with other cats, children so on so forth if nothing works give her to a rescue cat group make sure they don’t put them to sleep and or a no kill shelter there is not much you can do but i truly hope for the best for your baby girl
