Cats are great about being left alone for a while. As long as you provide a clean litter box, access to water, and food (unless you do scheduled feedings, of course), then they’re perfectly content, and will probably just nap while you’re at work. Cats do tend to sleep most of the day away, anyways.
Just make sure you have the time to dedicate to keeping their beautiful fur from being matted. Provide toys for mental stimulation, etc.
cats do do pretty well on there own but i would make sure that you kitty-proof your house…and that would include getting down on your hands and knees and getting a cats eye view of everything… there may be things all over the place by the time you get home if they can get on top of the counter and bat at things… they will get used to the routine and as long as you acknowledge him/her when you get home there shouldn’t be any lasting misbehavior on the kittys part
Yes – your cat will be fine. But if you are out of the house for a long time, an adult cat might be better than a kitten. Kittens need regular feeding and a lot of attention, so a small kitten might not cope well home alone. Either way, I would recommend getting 2 rather than 1 so that they have company and a playmate when you’re out.

then be ready to be your play pal when you get home.
