Which one is more affectionate etc?

Generally speaking, a neutered male will be the most affectionate. That isn’t always the case, but from my personal experience the females tend to be more feisty and independent, and the males tend to me more mellow and lap-cat oriented.

Good luck with adopting your new kitty!

I have read many articles about ragdolls, because I have one. They say these cats are very affectionate. Well, I have a gorgeous ragdoll boy, and although he doesn’t like to be held in my (or somebody else’s arms) he is very affectionate. I can tell you. He goes every morning to my bedroom to wake me up! He jumps into the bed and bangs his head against mine. If I don’t move he does it again. He also likes to be wherever in the house I am. If I am doing the dishes, he sits by my feet, if I am watching TV, he is there… He is so lovely! I don’t know about ragdoll girls, but believe me, I hated cats… and it was so weird that this one just won my heart the day I first saw him.

Btw, you can ‘google’ ragdoll cats, or ragdoll cats behavior. There’s a lot of info out there.

I have a female–she is the best cat ever. She is playful and has the cutest mannerisms. She almost reminds me of a cartoon the way she looks at me and waves her paw at me. I don’t think you can go wrong either way–ragdolls are just wonderful and beautiful cats!

I have an entire female ragdoll (as I am a registered breeder starting up with ragdolls) and she is wonderful. An absolute lap cat who loves cuddles and follows me everywhere. I dont think it matters with ragdolls which sex you choose they are mostly all smoochy but remember there can occaisonally be different personalities as in people and make sure you buy one from a registered breeder who has given them the socialisation and attention that they need as a kitten to ensure a great personality for the rest of their lives.
