I agree with this… instead of having the blow dryer going in just the front why not blowing it all around the cage to get the hair moving and so the heat won’t be blowing in the cat’s faces.

Try usuing the small 12-18 quart storage boxes with the lid. They have higher sides and because they are smaller they will do less walking around. I also only cover litter on one half. One draw back they tip over easy so wedge them into something. One plus…The lid can be put on to cover cat poop smell. They also work great in the car behind the seat they fit perfect.

How on earth do you get your cats to have a bath? My Persian “princess” Stella would probably scratch me half to death if I tried that. Seriously, how do you get them to do that? I am getting a Raggie-boy in a month or so to match Stella.

I do know some hints! Ragdolls are very careful and affectionate they go by what happens when they were a baby (example) if ur grandchildren pet it very hard and roughly-your ragdoll as a grown up might be afraid of people.!

    good luck!

woah, lady, i hope you know that you shouldn’t ever blowdry your cats dry. it’s really bad for their fur, it damages it and it could possibly cause more hair loss, so more hairballs. i heard it’s better to towel-dry them as much as you can, and then let them dry the rest themselves.

You should get a pet hairdryer. It has a cool setting where the heating element does not come on. Human hairdryers always have a heating element on even on the lowest cool setting. I have a Comare superduck 1600. Just better for your beautiful ragdolls. Im getting one soon.

I just got my persian from a cat breeder of 38 years. If she’s been blow-drying her cats’ hair with a standard hair dryer all this time then I don’t see what the harm is.

You’d hope after 38 years you know what you’re talking about – so I’m going to take her advice.

So I can say I “heard” it’s not bad to blow dry your animal with a standard hair-dryer because someone with YEARS of experience is my credible source.

    they dont.
i think it depends on the breed.
like the one in the flick, they’re ragdolls, they are very low maintenence, gentle, loyal and they love anyone, and is very friendly.
now if u had a different cat that was the opposite of those, then there would be a problem.

    are calicos a problem?

    July 22nd, 2009 at 01:00 | #23

it depends on the cat as well- I think what Calpico was trying to say was that Ragdolls are well-known for being friendlier than most other breeds of cats……… again, it depends on the cat though!

im sorry, i dont own a cat, though i wish to.
but if ur cat is very kind, and gentle then i guess it wont hurt to try?
or just do trial and error.
