Ragdoll Cats Are Fluffy Cats

February 8th, 2012

This video is a quick demonstration of just how fluffy Ragdoll cats are, with the help of our gorgeous Seal Lynx Point Ragdoll (he’s truly loving being hand brushed in this video, so don’t worry if it looks a little rough). The top questions I’m asked about Ragdoll cats are: 1. Are Ragdolls really as friendly & affectionate as everyone says? Yes, they are. As an indoor cat breed, they’re very dependent on you and love attention throughout the day, as well as play time with you. How playful and affectionate your Ragdoll is, does however depend on how well it’s raised and socialised. The more socialised and loved a Raggie is, the more outgoing and affectionate they become. 2. The next most common question is, just how fluffy are Ragdoll cats? The truth is, they are fluffy. As kittens, Raggies shed very little. By the time they reach about 12 months of age be prepared to vaccum every few days and de-fluff your clothes and of course brush them regularly, as this keeps the fluff loss to a minimum. It is however, important to note that some Ragdoll cats do shed more than others. In this case, Chiko our Seal Lynx Point is the same age as our other two Ragdolls but is much fluffier than the other two and therefore does shed more than they do. They’re truly exceptional cats, if you can handle having an indoor cat that sheds fluff often :)
