Note: Breeder has 5 yr health guarantee but had some differences. :(
The kittens are spayed/neuter with all vaccinations.
What I meant by 5 yr but had some differeance,is the ALL her kittens come with a 5 yr health but the breeder and I had a misunderstand therefore the health guran. is 1 yr for me.

    Hi Sillyme:)

Ragdoll cats are incredible pets. They are super affectionate. Folks just adore them, once they "meet" one.

The cost of a Ragdoll, however depends on the quality of the cat. Cats that are show quality are, of course the most expensive. Breeders do want their kittens out there, showing and winning because it reflects on their cattery.

The next category is the Breeder type. These cats are beautiful but may not be "show" quality. They carry bloodlines that are valuable, and breeders want to use them in their breeding program. Often a financial arrangement can be made between the buyer ( if they are experienced cat people) and the seller.

The "pet quality" cat is one that does not meet the standard, generally. This being said it does not in any way alter the personality. A "pet quality" cat may be sweeter than a show quality. But the cost of these cats is generally considerably lower than the other two classifications.

Don’t understand about 5 year guarantee" but had some differences" unless that means that certain conditions that a cat may develop after one year, will not be covered completely. This is something that makes me uncomfortable. I wonder why the breeder put this into a contract. All breeds of cats can develop serious medical conditions after 5 years of age, and even younger.

Here is a reputable Ragdoll breeder’s web site. It will give you an idea of costs. You can also contact her for further information. It is always a good idea to shop around and check breeder references when purchasing a cat.

Another possibility is to adopt a couple of Ragdoll cats from the pure breed rescue groups that specialize in that breed.

I totally believe that adopting cats is a much better idea because they need homes, just like any other cat up for adoption. On the other hand I completely support folks that want to purchase a particular breed, and if they want to show their cats and compete, that is something that can only be done by purchasing from a reputatable breeder.

One of my dear friends was able to adopt a gorgeous Ragamuffin cat that needed a home through a rescue group. He was almost two years old when she got him. He is a wonderful kitty.

Hope this helps and good luck to you.

This is terrible. Why would you pay this much money for kittens when there are millions each year being killed at the shelters?

If you’re just wanting a pet, go to a high-kill shelter and save a life. Breed doesn’t matter – personality does.

However, if you insist on a Ragdoll for some strange reason, go to http://www.petfinder.com and choose your breed. You will find there are even Ragdoll cats that need to be rescued because nobody wanted them any more.

That is WAY too much to be paying for a cat, their are millions every year being put down because they can’t find homes.Go to your local shelter and you will be looking to pay anywhere from $50-$150,and the cats are already fixed.

At that price, they better be SHOW quality kittens. Too high for pet prices. Most Raggy breeders would sell the average pet quality Raggy kitten for about $800.

Here’s a list of breeders to help you out.

I adopted a rag doll kitten 4 years ago from a foster home. Her mother had been hit by a car when pregnant. The kittens were saved, but the vet could not save the mother. Anyway, I looked up rag dolls on line and found that the usual price for a rag doll is $300.

Pet ragdoll kittens run anywhere from $600 to $900. Show and breeder quality goes up from there, breeder being the most expensive, $1500 +. A reputable breeder does not offer different guarantees for different people. The standard genetic health guarantee is 2 years. I wouldn’t deal with this breeder, the cost is unreasonable, the guarantee questionable. A good place to compare breeders is http://www.tica.org or http://www.rfci.org. Go to their breeders lists and search by state or country. You can check out the breeders web site and contact a few to get more info. Another option to a kitten is a retired breeder. Most breeders retire their cats between 3-5 years old and want them to have a good home of their own. The are sold at a greatly reduced rate. Good Luck

Why buy Mink Ragdolls? They are Breed Variants and are not accepted within the Ragdoll Breed Standards. They were also produced from outcrosses which is also unacceptable to the Ragdoll Breed Standard. Please be sure what ever Breeder you do select has had their Breeding stock DNA tested negative for the 2 known HCM causing genes and any kitten you may purchase is also tested negative.
