Ragdoll Cat Bites and Scratches a Lot?
Before getting my ragdoll, I was told they they were very calm, gentle cats, but he is only like that 50% of the time. He’s 1 year and 4 months old now. He’ll sleep for about 3-4 hours at a time, and seems like the sweetest cat in the world, but then he goes crazy running around, jumping everywhere and making really weird noises. When anybody tries to pick him up he digs his claws into their skin and bites really hard. And the bites aren’t just a nip either, he clamps down and doesn’t let go. We’re always left with bite marks and scratches, which often bleed quite a lot. Does anybody know why he does this, and how we can stop it?? He’s a pure bred ragdoll, and we treat him like a baby when he behaves, but we never shout at him or hit him?? Help!!
He has two scratching posts, but he prefers chairs :s, and his nails are clipped regularly…
And he was neutered at 6 months old
