The Ragdoll Cat – Animal Attractions TV

March 21st, 2010

One of the friendliest feline breeds, the rag doll cat is super friendly and craves human contact. The rag doll gets its name from its tendency to go limp as a bag of rags when picked up. Similar to a rabbit’s fur, rag dolls have soft hair that is very plush. A common myth of the rag doll’s ability to go limp is from the first rag doll mom who got hit by a car and suffered severe nerve damage. Rag doll cats are lovers not fighters!

@ismaelsbaby The Birman are more ‘divalike’ they decide how much they want to cuddle, and if they want to be touched or not. The Ragdoll are less ‘bitchy’ and like human contact much more. Plus, the birman have much fur to take care of because of the undercoat. I would rather have a ragdoll =) But that’s just my opinion.

I’ve had my Miss Kitty now for 17 years so when the day she leaves this world, my next kitty will for sure be a Ragdoll!! I just love the breed and if you search hard enough you can find pet quality one’s for as low as 300.00 When I get one it will be a male and will be named Raggy!

I have a ragdoll mix. She’s really a loving cat. The video matches the her personality well also.

And yeah, they are not outdoor cats. My cat can’t a fly.

My ragdoll used to sit up and put his arms in the air, like a baby, when he wanted me to pick him up :) I lost him to cancer in Sept 09; I am broken hearted ;(

Guess my ragdoll’s an exception…She’s really independent and allows us to pet her and sits on our lap only when she feels like it.

i have a ragdoll however he has beautiful hair but his hair actually DOES get matted. and i agree about the fact not to let them outside. they can NOT defend themselves. hes very laid back but my family thinks hes so weird cause he doesnt really like anyone but me. hah

sorry but if you are allergic to cats, you would be allergic to a ragdoll :( its not actually the cat fur tht makes u allergic, its a certain thing in the cats saliva, so when the cat grooms itself..you get the picture :)

I’m writing an article on cancer, which is what I was originally researching when I came across your article. There are so many health problems out there that people are struggling with, I was not aware! This is high-quality information, thanks.
