Most likely it would be better to get one from a breeder because at a shelter they will be gone in a blink of an eye. Kittens in shelters won`t be there for longer than 3-4 days. I got my kitten from a woman with allergies. And my other one from a litter.

With over 97% of cats on this planet no breed – and with over 99.99% of cats at shelters no particular breed – you’re not very likely to find one at a shelter. If you want to adopt an adult one check for purebred rescues. They scour shelters and take in any surrendered animals so they have a better chance at adoption. You can also check with breeders as they occasionally will sell retired breeding animals for only a few hundred dollars.
If it’s a Ragdoll kitten you want then the only way to get one is through a breeder and you’ll be paying at LEAST $600 for it.
