I have a 1yr old male ragdoll. We feed him Whiskas single serves (which he loves the beef flavours) and Purina Supercoat dry food. He seems to be happy and healthy on both those. They are just supermarket brand. Try and avoid anything with liver, it gave my cat really bad wind!!

Before that, we had him on Advance (kitten) and he would love that too. His treats are Temptations chicken & tuna flavour. He loves them so much, he finds his way into the pantry and rips the treats out himself!!!

Cats obviously dont all like the same thing, so yours might not like the same. Try not to change the food too much. And watch what affect the food has on his poo’s. Their colour, size or frequency, as well as smell and form (solid or liquid/runny) can be affected by the food.

And please, do not let your cat out!!

There seems to be some prejudice against IAMS by some, but the formula you are providing them does have chicken as the first ingredient.

And you want meat as the first ingredient in any food you provide. But a quality food for a cat is for any cat, not just a specific breed of cat.

I am providing a link to an article from the Cornell vet school on cat foods. They discuss what to look for, not specific brands.

But the thing to remember is that your cat is the decider. Only the opinion of your cat matters, since if they don’t like it, they won’t eat.
