What Is a Ragdoll Siamese Cat?

The person I purchased it from said that’s a pure bred cat, but isn’t that cross mixing? I’m not too sure whats going on? I even go their birth certificate that indicates its a ragdoll siamese cat

Is that a siamese cat with ragdoll characteristics? Please explain to me the difference between a ragdoll siamese cat and a siamese cat? My previous siamese cat talks non stop and this one seems to be no different, but they say ragdolls are really quiet?

There’s no such thing as a Ragdoll Siamese Cat. They’re two different breeds.

A "birth certificate"? You’re clearly dealing with a horrible backyard breeder. Breeders don’t give buyers "birth certificates" they give REGISTRATION PAPERS that show a cat has a pedigree, what registry it’s with and what breed it is.

What you have there is NOTHING – a cat of NO particular breed. Breeders don’t sell cats unaltered unless the cat’s to be part of the cattery’s breeding program. And in that case the BREEDER controls all breeding. The odds of this person obtaining an unaltered male of one breed and an unaltered female of another? Slim to NONE.

Why are you supporting horrible backyard breeders??????????

It sounds like a mixed breed to me, but I suppose it could be a pure bred ragdoll cat which has inherited seal-point fur pattern (typical of siamese, but is also present in other breeds such as Birman and Himalayan). But there is no such thing as a pure bred Siamese cat that has the coat of a ragdoll (which is medium-long), as pure bred siamese have short coats.

Sorry you were scammed big time. I show cats and KNOW there is no such "breed". The ‘papers you got were probably CKC or APRI – both rip off fake registries and totally worthless.

More then likely you got your kitten from a backyard breeder or kitten mill that crossed a Siamese and a Ragdoll cat together and sold it for hundreds of dollars.

Just consider it a mixed breed cat (which it is), spay/neuter now and love and care for your cat like any other cat.

Sorry but you could have adopted the same markings of cat from a rescue group.
Our reputable group at Pet Smart have adopted several cats like this.

To agree with the others you have been scammed.
I would contact the Humane Society so this backyard breeder may be paid a surprise visit.

There is no such pedigree cat – what you have is a mixed breed. For information on reputable Ragdoll cat breeders see RFCI (Ragdoll Fanciers Club International), RFW (Ragdoll Fanciers Worldwide), RI (Ragdoll International) or RFC (Ragdoll Fanciers’ Club). You can also read breed descriptions on TICA (The Interntional Cat Association), CFA (Cat Fanciers Association), or CFF (Cat Fanciers Federation). TICA, CFA and CFF are legitimate cat registries.

A reputable breeder will have a contract to protect the cat, and it should be neutered or spayed. Expect to pay about $700-$800 for a purebred kitten and make sure you have a health guarantee.

It disgusts me when innocent people such as yourself are ripped off when there are many reputable breeders who passionately protect, health check and show their beautiful, purebred Ragdolls. Unfortunately, sometimes people are just looking for a "good deal" and end up with some backyard breeder who misrepresents the breed.

There is also a Ragdoll Rescue you can contact….
