This website will give you information on Ragdolls. They will tend to be more expensive because they are a specific breed. If you are working with a responsible breeder, the parents will be carefully selected for health, disposition and conformance to the breed standard and that the kittens will be healthy, socially well adjusted and come with a health guarantee. They may or may not be show or breeding quality.

Ragdolls are a specific breed – they are purebred cats. 95% of cats out there are regular mixed breed cats.

Ragdolls are a wonderful breed but all my cats have been shelter cats and are wonderful too. I don’t see the need to spend the money when so many cool cats need homes.

you also need to do your research. i have no interest in ragdolls, but it is my understanding the breed is divided into two groups, those who follow the rules of the founder, a woman who claimed she breed the cats with humans and people from outer space and those who broke from her and started breding on their own. the founder claims only her cats are ragdolls.

as the other poster said, get a mutt from the pound. almost free.

A pedigree. Its a purebred vs a mixed breed. IMO if you want to show, you buy a pedigree unless you have allergies and cannot have a mixed breed cat.
