If you want a cat for indoors, Ragdoll is purrfect, not being outside they don’t need to defend themselves, something a Ragdoll does not do. A Siamese is a talker. The Turkish will beat you to the shower, haha! Maine Coons are also stunning!
Do you have a reason for wanting one of those breeds? If not, adopt a shelter cat. All of my cats through the years have been adopted, and they were all wonderful. I even found a Maine Coon at the pound.
If you are looking for a show-quality cat, that’s different.
MAINE COON! they’re the best cats anyone can ever own. I’ve had two over my life time and they’re so funny. they have their own personalities and are highly intelligent felines. they’re keep you happy for years!
How the heck should anybody know what you should get? These cats all have different requirements and we have no idea what sortof household you have. I only have prior experience with Siamese. They are people cats and don’t really want to be alone for long periods. I have included a link for some comparisons. Hope that helps.
We have a stray who had 5 kittens 6 months ago. One of the kittens is clearly Siamese. So cute. Never saw a black headed siamese before. But she is loud and talkative and attention seeking. Works for me, but may not for you. Oh, and they are VERY smart kitties.
Maine Coons are wonderful cats, very intelligent, quiet, loving and gentle. They can get BIG, too. We had one, named Cougar, and he could actually stand on his hind legs and open the front door using the doorknob with his front paws!
Siamese cats are great, very sweet to their owners, but sometimes they can become grouchy in their old age. But Siamese have the most beautiful eyes, and are HIGHLY intelligent, and often talkative. LOUD, and talkative.
You should get the kittens people are giving away. Look in the paper for free kittens.
Then save half the money you would have blown on an animal that would just as soon play with your toe tag as sit next to you. With the other half go have a good time.
I am partial to a Siamese. I’ve had a few & they are very intelligent, loving & beautiful cats. I’ve had many breeds, but honestly the Siamese seem more intelligent. loyal & loving. IF you live in a warm climate, I would not recommend a Maine Coon. They have very heavy coats, fur between their toes & a thick bib. They do mind the heat! Also, they are a larger breed of cats & are incline to get to be a good size when they’re an adult. An idea for you…go to an animal shelter, look at a lot of cats/kittens & let it choose you! Which ever one tends to be more friendly or loving around you, that would be my choice. Unless you are going to breed, at least it w/be neutered already & you won’t have that to worry about.
Check out petfinders on the internet for some great rescued cats – you might find a blend of all of the above! I’ve had main coon mixes & angora mixes & they were good natured & loving, & pretty laid back. Siamese can sometimes be a little more "high strung". no experience w/somalis or ragdolls.
Siamese I have had them since I was little. They are the most affectionate cats and so smart. They are so much fun and have tons of personality. They are the best little cats and live such long lives.
Just find a good breeder please don’t buy from a pet store. Besides a breeder will be far less expensive and you can meet the parents.
You should not decide the cat you want by what breed it is. Breed shouldn’t matter. You should decide by how you feel about the cat’s personality. I volunteer with adoptions on Saturdays and I’ve noticed that when people come in they know what cat they want by the bond the two instantly share. That’s how I knew to keep one of the cat’s I was fostering.
Of course a Ragdoll!! I have one, and he is the best! of course any breed of cat can be the right one for you. If you are looking for a friendly, greet you at the door kinda cat that is pretty unique ( I have worked at 2 different animal hospital- this is how i became in love with the breed- I have only seen about 4) Mine gets along with all kinds of animals as well. I personally think that siamese are to talkitive for my taste. The turkish angora is too hyper- i have only met 1. The maine coon a little to boring- the ragdoll comes in many colors. I have never met a somali.
Maine Coons and Ragdolls are somewhat similar ( in looks and attitude – and TONS of hair ) I have a Ragamuffin, a Russian Blue and a rescued mixed breed and my favorite out of all of them (forgive me, Gracie and Murri!) is the Russian Blue (Pasquale) He is the COOLEST cat. Similar to the Siamese in looks, aside from the stunning blue gray color and beautiful emerald green eyes. His personality is great, he loves his mommy and daddy to death, he’s quiet, but very funny. Maybe you should check into them if you’re having a hard time deciding which breed is right for you. Oh, and he doesn’t really shed at ALL. My other two are terrible shedders, of course, being long haired cats. Hope this helped!!
First of all, I would like to tell you I breed TUA’s for 17 years now. Which breed you like depends on what you want in a cat. First of all; the type! If you want a sturdy, big hairy type; choose the Main Coon. If you like a anorexia type; take a siamese. If you like points with lots of fur; take a Ragdoll ect, ect. If you like a elegant but muscular type with silky hair and a character like a mother in law ( nosey!!!) take a Turkish Angora!!!! You can get it in all natural colours, it’s a healthy breed and very, very caring and a good companion.
My ragdoll Maggie is about two years old now. I have to tell you I would never have another breed animal. She is the most loving Pet I have every had, a little cat, a little dog. She even plays fetch…..I adore her and when I have more room, she will have a sister. I’m in awe sometimes at how beautiful she is. I alway rescued homeless pets in the past and feel guilty sometimes about owning a cat with papers, but every thing I read about them is true. (except for the sheading)..Good luck with your decision.

I hope you have a good lint-roller.
Well I have a Maine Coon, they are very cute and fluffy. I think they are the best..and get it form a shelter so it is already trained!

siamese are cool, but any cat works, im sure which ever u pick will love u and u will love it too.
I think you would be better off just letting your heart tell you what cat is best for you.

Siamese is the most social of all breeds. If you won’t be available much for your Siamese it’s better to get a different breed.
Depends on what kind of personality you are looking for.
Maine Coon are really nice, pretty cats. I knew one named Loki. Cool kitty.
